Ah, the door
It was not my intention
To close it all the way
Only some,
Some separation
Not to be kept- kept in
Inside where sadness looms
Pain, never-ending
Creating more of itself
As it flows
In a downward cycle
Closing the door
Forevermore
So as to avoid
The light
Happiness, joy
The only thing sadness fears
So shove it away
Like everything else
Outside the door

This is a poem I wrote this past August. It's about isolation as a result of the sadness I feel.
It's hard for me to edit poems that are about emotions, like this one, since it's hard to capture that state of mind. So sorry if it doesn't meet expectations. I would appreciate constructive criticism!
